IMQ has 'bright' SQ photoelectric switches

An IMO Precision Controls product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 2, 2008

IMO's SQ range of 'bright' photoelectric switches offers users the practicality and flexibility of universal AC or DC operation over the multi-voltage range from 18-240VAC/DC.

This feature, together with the SQ's practical relay output, allows easy integration of the sensors into machines.

It also reduces costs and inventory for OEMs by allowing one type of photoelectric sensor to be employed across all machine types.

The new SQ photoelectric sensors are 'bright' units, designed specifically for conveyor and materials handling applications.

Available in Diffuse, Reflective and Through-beam versions, with both visible red and infrared emission, the SQ units offer a wide sensing range from 40mm to 20,000mm.

Also extending their application scope is the sensor's facility for operation in the temperature range (-20C to +60C).

This allows the universal switches to be used in barrier and door control applications where they may be exposed to harsh outdoor environments.

The SQ family is supplied with bright top-mounted LEDs to indicate power and output status.

Two connection versions are offered: cable or M12 plug.

Connection of the sensors via an M12 plug will enable rotation through 90deg to suit any cable run direction.

In common with all its sensor products, IMO is supporting the SQ range with a three-year guarantee.
