SEW Eurodrive has been named "European motor drive vendor of the year" by the independent industrial automation market research company IMS Research.
SEW Eurodrive has been named "European motor drive vendor of the year" by the independent industrial automation market research company IMS Research.
The winner of this award, presented at the Hannover Industry Fair, was decided on the results from a Europe-wide survey on the requirements of motor drive users, and their views on how well the suppliers meet their needs.
IMS Research conducted a Europe-wide benchmarking survey of motor drive users, from all over Europe, active in a variety of industry sectors.
They were asked to rate the performance of their suppliers on a number of factors, including price, delivery times, reliability and product ease of use.
In excess of 250 interviews were performed.
The company that received the highest overall ranking from this survey was SEW Eurodrive, which was also ranked top for product ease of use and good technical support.
Second was Omron, closely followed by Mitsubishi, finishing third for the second consecutive year.
Omron was also ranked number one for delivery, and Mitsubishi had top place finishes for product reliability and leading edge technology.
The key factor that the users considered most important when selecting a supplier of motor drives was product reliability.
Competitive pricing was also deemed to be of significant importance.
These findings, and many others, were presented at the awards ceremony to key personnel from the world's leading motor drive suppliers and industry journalists.
