All camera controls are accomplished via the 1394 interface, which includes a fully programmable image processing pipeline and a dynamic range/gamma control LUT

ISG has released the LightWise 1394b 800Mbit/s camera family The first camera is a 5Mpixel 1394b camera, which offers full resolution 2592 x 1944 running at sustained 12 frames a second

In addition this camera has a much larger image buffer of 128Mbyte.

The LightWise LW-5-S-1394b camera is available in both colour and monochrome versions.

All camera controls are accomplished via the 1394 interface, which includes a fully programmable image processing pipeline and a dynamic range/gamma control LUT for any desired response curve and wide range of triggering and strobe control capabilities.

These cameras come packaged with driver software and a user's manual.

ISG implemented the 1394b Link Layer as an IP Core solution in Verilog and it can be ported to any FPGA or ASIC solution.

Currently implemented in a Xilinx Spartan 3 FPGA for simplicity, low-cost and space-efficiency, it is fully compatible with IEEE-1394 IIDC DCAM specifications.

ISG is a Xilinx Alliance partner and will offer this IP as a core solution for customers seeking 1394b Link Layer technology.

The increased bandwidth of the 800Mbit/s 1394b bus will suit applications such as optical inspection, capturing higher resolution images, processing them and taking measurements faster.

This increases the overall optical inspection speed and reduces measurement time.

Security and surveillance systems can transmit higher frame rates over longer distances.

All area cameras from ISG incorporate the ISG Image Pipeline and can be programmed with customer-supplied algorithms.

All ISG cameras are fully compliant to the IEEE-1394 IIDC DCAM Specification 1.3 or later.
