Solar batteries given a drive in the Sun
Race
The Infranor Group Spanish Sales company together with Mavilor motors participated with the Universiat Politecnica de Catalunya in the Sun Race in Australia.
The Infranor Group Spanish Sales company, together with Mavilor motors, participated with the Universiat Politecnica de Catalunya in providing equipment for their entry in the Sun Race in Australia from Sydney to Melbourne on the 11-29 February The vehicle was driven by solar-powered batteries feeding a version of Infranor's SMTBD digital amplifier driving the Mavilor MA 55 motor
The vehicle was 6m long by 2m wide and weighed just 252kg.
Our products were chosen due to the high efficiency of the Mavilor motors and Infranor digital drives together with the high power to weight ratio.
The vehicle covered a total of 1790km and the Catalunya team came seventh out of a field of 12 competitors, a good result for a first time entry and competition from several teams with heavy commercial sponsorship.
