New strategies under way at motion
control company
The Infranor group is going from strength to strength and aims to be the most competent company in the field of servo and motion control.

Infranor has released a new servo drive for brushless servo motors with resolver feedback and both digital speed and current loops, together with auto phasing and autotuning.
With the present spate of mergers and takeovers are they still around? If so where are they now? Yes they are very much in evidence and the Infranor group is going from strength to strength.
In the last few years there has been many changes.
In 1996 Brian Webb the MD of Infranor Ltd was appointed General Manager of the Servo group sales companies and in 1997 a new CEO for Infranor Inter group was appointed.
He is Mr Martin Boelsterli, a senior industrial figure in Switzerland.
He together with the new management team set about redefining the strategy for the group.
This has resulted in the appointment of several new young managers in various parts of Europe together with a new focus and increased investment in R and D.
This will result in the introduction of some radical new products in the coming years.
This is complimented with additional building for the Mavilor motors factory in Barcelona and a new drives production unit in Lourdes, France.
Both these will come on stream during 2001.
The early benefits of these moves were visible when the group issued results for 1999/2000 showed a 10% increase in sales and profits.

In the UK Dr Lee Fenney joined the company in 1999 and was appointed Managing Director in May 2000.
His influence has seen the strengthening of the Sales and Technical teams with a large investment in training.
His objective is that Infranor will be the most competent company in the field of servo and motion control.
To this end the most exciting project to date is the purpose built facility being constructed on the outskirts of Lincoln just off the A1 trunk road.
This new HQ will bring the company nearer to its main customers and offer them tailor made training facility and an applications laboratory.
This new site will be operational by March 2001 and will be followed by the launch of some new products in May 2001.
