Infranor Inter AG in Zurich, Switzerland, which has its activity in industrial automation, have acquired the American company Automotion Incorporated in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Infranor Inter AG in Zurich, Switzerland, which has its activity in industrial automation, have acquired the American company Automotion Incorporated in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Automotion develops and produces customer specific drives for servomotors.

'Putting Brushless Into Motion' is its trade mark.

With a labour force of 40 employees Automotion should achieve total revenues for the year 2000 of approximately USD 6.5 Million.

This acquisition corresponds to the strategy communicated to the public and followed by the Infranor Group for a considerable time already.

Automotion operates in the same field as Infranor SA in Lourdes, France and MESA GmbH in Berlin, Germany, both companies of the Infranor Group.

The company serves practically the same customer segments and follows a similar strategy.

The motion control market in America is estimated to have roughly the same size as in Europe.

Infranor has served it so far with its engineering and sales organization Infranor in Naugatuck, Connecticut.

With this strategic acquisition Infranor intends to reinforce its presence and abilities in the American market considerably.

Synergies within the entire Group are expected in the product technologies as well.

Infranor intends to preserve and build upon the present management, manufacturing and technical team of Automotion.

Infranor also plans to keep Automotion's facility based in the greater Ann Arbor area.'.
