Locknuts keep bearings in place
New sizes of AM series precision locknuts have been introduced by INA , so the complete range now extends from an M15x1 thread up to M130x2.
New sizes of AM series precision locknuts have been introduced by INA, so the complete range now extends from an M15x1 thread up to M130x2 The locknuts are designed primarily to preload bearings for screws drives and are therefore matched to INA's axial angular contact ball bearings (series ZKLN, ZKLF and DKLFA) and needle roller/axial cylindrical roller bearings (series ZARN and ZARF)

Precision bearings keep hydraulic systems running
Hydraulic drives and pumps require precision bearings and seals that are reliable, efficient and able to withstand the most demanding operating conditions.
Overview covers full linear range
Guide presents a complete overview of linear bearings and guidance systems available from precision bearings manufacturer Schaeffler UK.
In addition the locknuts can be used to locate rolling element bearings of other types and from other manufacturers.
Using a precision locknut not only provides the required preload but also ensures that the bearings are accurately located.
For example, the axial runout of the locknuts is just 0.005mm, which is achieved by machining the thread and the abutting face in a single operation.
Accurate location of a bearing helps to ensure smooth, quiet, low-friction operation with minimal wear and maximum longevity.
Once the locknuts have been tightened to the required torque, they are locked in position by means of a series of hexagonal socket set screws.
These screws cause elastic deformation in lugs that are cut in the nut, thereby forcing the lugs' thread flanks against the flanks of the spindle thread.
This gives a high frictional force but without damaging the thread of the spindle or the locknuts - allowing the locknut to be reused several times.
Tightening the set screws has no affect on the axial runout of the locknut.
Torque can be applied either by C-spanner to DIN1810B in the holes provided in the outside diameter, or by adapter AMS available from INA, which locates in the nut end face.
New literature is available from INA with full technical details of the precision locknuts and adapters. Request a free brochure from Schaeffler (UK) ...
