IDAM's product portfolio includes linear, rotary and two-co-ordinate direct-drive solutions, including all related control technology.
By combining its mechanical engineering expertise with control engineering, metrology and systems integration specialists at the company, Schaeffler's IDAM division is able to offer customers high-precision custom-engineered linear and rotary direct drive solutions for every application.
IDAM's product portfolio includes linear, rotary and two-co-ordinate direct-drive solutions, including all related control technology.
This includes linear AC synchronous motors (ironless, slotless, slotted and reluctance), rotary (torque) motors, air bearing planar drives, servo amplifiers, motor filters, interpolators, regulators, power units and compact controls.
IDAM also supplies precision x-y positioning tables, elevator engine transmission units and complete system solutions.
IDAM has considerable expertise in a range of industry sectors in which high positioning accuracy and precision are critical.
Machine tools, special purpose machinery, automation technology, electronics manufacturing, metrology and medical engineering technology, elevators and optical equipment are just some sectors to have benefited from IDAM solutions.
IDAM works very closely with the customer to provide custom engineered direct and rotary drive systems that are both cost effective and technically advanced.
IDAM solutions also benefit from Schaeffler's INA and FAG linear guide and bearing assembly expertise.
A variety of disciplines at Schaeffler Group Industrial contribute to overall system design and development, including mechanical design, control engineering, metrology and systems integration specialists.
Examples of customer solutions include: transfer systems for notching machines; high speed linear axis for materials handling and automation; flexible receivers for the accurate positioning of parts; linear axis machines for the packaging industry; air bearing, single axis systems for the optical industry; five-axis manipulator for an X-ray measuring machine; and precision linear stages for milling and grinding machines.
