This performance is not bought at a price, because with 40kHz PWM operation, the ultra small PD2400 Series is undoubtedly the quietest range of mini-stepper drives available.
The combination of high levels of robustness and high power, plus quiet operation, means that PD2400 drives are ideally suited to applications such as special purpose machinery, x-y tables and semiconductor manufacturing.

In addition an extended I/O option board adds a further 16 inputs and eight outputs to the 2400's already high functionality.
Assimilation of the PD2400 Series into any machine environment is made quicker and easier with ToolPAC, Pacific Scientific's Windows-based setup configuration and development software.
Contained within the software is a ToolPAC Setup Wizard, which machine builders can use to simply configure, program and solve problems in their respective applications.
The software also allows monitoring of the status of drive parameters at any time and provides full control of I/O points for programming and troubleshooting.
The PD2400 Series drive is designed for use with the rugged and well proven Powerpac range of stepper motors.
These motors provide the highest torques per frame size in the industry (up to 40.2Nm).
A design that encloses optimised magnetics in a "housingless" frame together with a large diameter rotor and new rotor-stator design to produce more torque and provide high acceleration capabilities.
This novel design also features low detent torque for smoother micro-stepping.
