Slip rings complement servomotors and
drives

Slip rings are designed for use in any system requiring the transmission of electrical and/or power signals to an intermittently or continuously rotating shaft.

Inmoco is complementing its range of servomotors and drives with the introduction of the Servotecnica series of miniature and commercial slip rings The slip rings are designed for use in any system requiring the transmission of electrical and/or power signals to an intermittently or continuously rotating shaft

Designed for use in such equipment as video systems, robots and downhole inspection equipment, manufacturing and process control equipment, medical equipment and packaging machines, the miniature SRC series slip rings deliver a flexible, cost-effective, reliable and high-quality solution.

They are available in many standard configurations; offer a high rating life of 100 million revolutions (nominal speed 250rev/min) and the facility of from 6 to 56 circuits.

In addition, their compact size allows installation into small systems thus guaranteeing high levels of performance.

The design of the SRC series features a small ring diameter, which allows low peripheral speed between brushes and rings, as well as reduced dynamic imbalance; combined these factors mean low wear for the user.

Moreover, the use of noble metals (gold to gold alloy) assures longer operational life, lower frictional torque and reduced noise and interference between circuits.

All the above features make the SRC Series ideally suited to transmission of critical signals, such as high-frequency signals (video, fieldbuses etc), very low currents and voltages (strain gauges, thermocouples and measuring equipment).

The SRC series is available for use with AC and DC voltages up to 240V; it is IP51 protected against the ingress of dust and dripping water, and offers a wide operating temperature range from -20 to +80C.

In addition, the SRC series can be easily customised on demand; the customisation concerns items such as connectors and cables, and also the number of circuits available from the SRC units.

Complementing the SRC Series for larger applications, are the SRH and SRH 1254 series of slip rings.

Both of these types make use of a special technology, which allows multiple contacts between their brushes and ring: 24 maximum in the case of the SRH 1254, and 120 for the SRH series.

The same technology also ensures low torque operation with reduced mechanical noise and low levels of wear.

Mounted in tough ABS housings, both SRH series are robust and offer IP51 ingress protection for use across a wide range of industries including packaging, manufacturing and processing, robotics, medical, machine tools, converting, cable winding and many more.
