A new range of Dymax silicone-free Formed-In-Place (FIP) Gaskets has been announced by Intertronics.

A new range of Dymax silicone-free Formed-In-Place (FIP) Gaskets has been announced by Intertronics They are already being used in automotive, consumer, communication, electronic and medical device applications

Curing completely in seconds on exposure to UV light, the new GA100 Series gaskets allow immediate assembly of parts.

The range, comprising five formulations, represents properties suitable for a wide variety of different gasket applications.

These include adhesion to substrates, hardness, compression set, thermal range, water absorption, cure depth, and viscosity.

Viscosities range from 450 to 60,000 cP and compression sets are generally in the range of 5 to 10%.

Particularly well suited for high speed automated assembly, the GA100 Series cures in 5 to 30 seconds upon exposure to 365 nanometer wavelength UV light.

Processing is from 1-25 feet per minute when cured by moderate to high intensity lamps - usually mounted over conveyors.

Gasketed parts are ready to be assembled and shipped on removal from the conveyor.

Unlike UV-cured silicones which cure only the skin of the bead, Dymax FIP urethane and rubber gaskets cure the complete bead (to a depth of at least 3mm).

Dymax eliminates the need to rack parts for hours or days to cure the gasket.
