Opti-tec 5013 two pack epoxy offers high optical clarity and fast room temperature cure.

Opti-tec 5013 two pack epoxy from Intertronics offers high optical clarity and fast room temperature cure.

It is designed for assembly/repair of glass, quartz, metal, plastics, wood or ceramics in applications such as optical filters, lenses, prisms, optoelectronics, artwork and sculpture, as well as encapsulation, glob topping, casting and potting.

And it is highly effective in restoration of minerals, gems and quartz crystals.

Opti-tec 5013 features a high surface energy which allows it to wet and wick between surfaces, although its medium viscosity makes it easily handlable.

Within minutes this two pack sets in place (can be handled in 30 minutes) with full cure achievable in 10min at 65C if required.

After cure the Opti-tec 5013 joint is hard and capable of being polished.

It is water white clear, to make it virtually invisible in many applications - such as a recent example reported by one customer.

This involved repair of an exhibit quality quartz crystal, which was achieved without special fixturing due to the fast cure.

As the refractive index of Opti-tec 5013 epoxy exactly matched the quartz, the repair lines were completely invisible.
