Intertronics offers LED spot-curing system

An Intertronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 26, 2008

Intertronics is offering the Dymax Bluewave LED high-intensity spot-curing system.

The Dymax Bluewave has no bulbs to change, requires no warm-up and has cool cures and constant intensity for thousands of hours.

This system is CE marked for UK customers and can add processing benefits to users of light curing adhesives, for example bonding of polycarbonate, PVC, PET, metal, glass and many other substrates, as well as spot curing of coatings.

The Bluewave LED generates light using an array of surface mount LEDs instead of traditional metal halide or mercury bulbs.

The LEDs produce visible light energy in a relatively narrow wavelength band centred at 410nm, compared with a typical broad band, high-pressure UV bulb (300-500nm).

This system emits a maximum visible-light intensity output of more than 2,500 mW/cm2 from an 8mm diameter lightguide and allows users to adjust intensity output from zero per cent to 100 per cent.

The relatively narrow band produced by LEDs generates cooler curing temperatures.

The Bluewave LED curing system can cure many of Dymax's visible light-curing adhesives that are currently available and Intertronics' technical support team can offer adhesive recommendations for assembly processes to maximise the benefits of Bluewave's LED curing systems.
