Edrich has mission to inform

Medals recognise prowess in acoustics
The Institute of Acoustics is inviting nominations for three prestigious medals.
The institute, which is a registered charity, is active in research, educational, environmental and industrial organisations.
Members have wide ranging interests in all aspects of acoustics.
The position has been created to promote the institute better to the outside world.
Edrich will be responsible for raising the institute's profile to encourage new members to join the 2500 current membership.
She will also be responsible for ensuring that the many conferences and meetings of the Institute are publicised with a view to attracting wider attendance, as well as promoting the Institute's important educational programme.
Edrich's previous position was as Communications Officer for an environmental charity.
She also has many years experience of working with the United Nations and the World Health Organisation in Geneva and in sales and marketing in the UK.
Institute of Acoustics President, Tony Jones, says: "The institute has been in existence for 30 years and has been very successful thanks to the support and hard work of its many volunteers".
"However, there remains plenty to be done in a continuously evolving environment".
"We now have a new website which offers improved communication features and Judy's appointment will be an opportunity to have someone dedicated entirely to boosting our profile".
