The Institute of Acoustics has run its high-level Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control since 1975.

This well-established diploma is a postgraduate course, usually studied part-time over one year.

In an ever increasingly noisy world, it provides a recognised professional training for those involved in the control of noise and vibration in the environment and the workplace.

The diploma covers the principles of acoustics, as well as specialist subject areas including architectural and building acoustics and sound reproduction; noise and vibration control engineering; and environmental and transportation noise, encompassing relevant legislation.

The diploma is delivered at several universities throughout the UK and can count towards a masters degree with further study.
