Vibration measurement in the spotlight

The Institute of Acoustics is holding a one-day meeting on the measurement and assessment of environmental vibration impact on Tuesday 13th March 2007 in London.

The Institute of Acoustics Measurement and Instrumentation Group is holding a one-day meeting on the measurement and assessment of environmental vibration impact on Tuesday 13th March 2007 in London The latest draft of BS6472 for the evaluation of human exposure to vibration in buildings is now out for public comment

After a long development period, it is hoped that we will at last have an updated standard for use in 2007.

This one-day meeting will be an opportunity to bring together all the latest thinking on the subject and for consultants and practitioners to bring themselves up to date with the latest measurement techniques and assessment methods.

Papers are invited on the following subjects: practical measurements of human vibration; instrumentation; assessment methods for ground vibration; blasting vibration; railway vibration; vibration from construction sites; and comments to draft BS6472.
