Interface load cells measure torque and force

An Interface Force Measurements product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 18, 2009

Both torque and force can be measured using Interface Force Measurements's Model 2816 and 1516 axial torsion load cells.

Model 2816 is available in four capacity configurations, from 3.3Klbf/2Kin-lb up to 15Klbf/7.5Kin-lb, with typical dimensions of 6.0in OD at 1.75in high.

This is appropriate for use in applications where complex moment force measurement analysis is required.

Model 1516 with 100lbf/50lbf-in is suitable for smaller load and torque measurements.

Typical applications are found in robotics, orthopedic movement analysis, flight simulators and automotive or aerospace manoeuvring models and tests.

The load cells can be exercised up to 100 million cycles (fully reversed) at full capacity without failure.

Each 2816 and 1516 load cell is individually tested and calibrated.

Two individual electrical connectors ensure minimal crosstalk and control over both torque and force outputs.
