Magnetic sensors boast superior
performance
A new range of low cost, surface mount, magnetic sensors accurately measure linear and angular displacement and are claimed to offer better performance than Hall effect devices.
Inertial Aerosystems has a new range of low cost, surface mount, magnetic sensors that accurately measure linear and angular displacement and are claimed to offer better performance than Hall effect devices When used with a magnetic field source greater than 8mT, each sensor can monitor changes in the source/sensor position to produce either an angular output of magnetic field direction, up to +/-90 degrees (with 0.07 degree resolution), or a linear position output with a range of up to 8mm per sensor
These devices are ideal for mounting on rotating shafts or for multiple use in linear arrays.
High bandwidth, operating temperature from -40 to +85C and rugged, lightweight construction make these sensors ideal for use in industrial and process controls, automobile electronics, alarm systems, replacement of inductive instrumentation and medical orthopaedics.
