Barometric pressure transducers are designed primarily for automatic weather observing systems.

Inertial Aerosystems has a new range of barometric pressure transducers designed primarily for automatic weather observing systems (AWOS).

Manufactured by US-based Honeywell Solid State Electronics Centre, these devices meet the stringent requirements of US FAA advisory circular 150/5220-16C, which is the accepted criteria for airports worldwide.

Designated the HPB/A and PPT range these innovative products and cost effective combine proven MEMS silicon sensor technology with microprocessor signal conditioning to eliminate the need to insulate or temperature-regulate the barometer.

The AWOS requirements for barometric pressure transducer include: two barometers per AWOS system, pressure range 17.58-31.53inHg with a maximum error of 0.02inHg, resolution 0.001inHg increments, maximum drift with time 0.01inHg over 6 months and temperature range (class 2 outdoors) -55 to +55C Available in a compact rugged package these products have many programmable features and RS232, RS485 or TTL outputs.

An optional, external, digital display is available.
