Digital pressure transducer is ideal for depths

An Inertial Aerosystems UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 15, 2006

Inertial Aerosystems has introduced a new affordable precision digital pressure transducer that features a hermetically sealed stainless steel construction

The PPTR type digital pressure transducer is designed for use in harsh environments, and is especially suitable for use as a depth sensor.

The smart sensor combines proven silicon sensor technology with microprocessor based signal conditioning, delivering repeatable, long term accuracy of 0.1 percent of span max (better accuracy on request) over the operating temperature range of -40 to +85C.

Absolute or gauge configurations are available.

The PPTR measures pressure to depths of up to 2000m (3000 psi).

Simple system design ensures no additional signal compensation is needed, and efficient data acquisition can connect up to 89 units on a multidrop bus if using the optional RS-485 capability (RS232 standard).

The versatile transducer can be installed with both existing and new systems.

An optional Hastelloy diaphragm is available to enable the handling of most media such as harsh gases or liquids.

An analogue 0-5VDC output is included.

The rugged unit has many programmable software features that support a wide range of applications including engine test stands, flight testing, water depth, unmanned underwater vehicles, instrumentation and analytical equipment, process and control, research and development to name but a few.
