Inertial introduces Honeywell pressure transducers

An Inertial Aerosystems UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 22, 2009

Inertial Aerosystems is introducing a range of low-cost, board-based, digital integrated pressure transducers manufactured by Honeywell.

The IPT range of transducers is designed to provide accurate pressure data in an industry standard SPI digital format.

At the centre of these IPTs is a Honeywell silicon piezorestive pressure sensor with pressure- and temperature-sensitive elements.

These units offer OEMs and systems integrators an economic module for the design of high-precision measurement systems.

When applying the coefficients stored in the onboard EEPROM to the normalised IPT pressure output (24-bit) and temperature output (16-bit), the IPT yields accurate and stable pressure readings over the -40C to +85C compensated temperature range.

Stored correction coefficients in the EEPROM are ready to use, so no additional pressure and temperature calibration is necessary.

This range of IPTs comprises 18 variants from 1PSIG/PSID to 50PSIA in absolute, gauge and differential pressure ranges.

The IPTs have 0.04 per cent absolute pressure accuracy and +/- 0.10 per cent gauge/differential pressure accuracy over the compensated -40C to 85C range.

Suitable for use where space and weight are at a premium, the IPT devices can be integrated into a variety of applications that require high performance in a small package.

Weighing less than 10g, they measure approximately 1.4 x 19 x 25mm, with low power consumption.

Full operational control is provided via the digital I/O port.

There are many applications for the range, including flow and pressure calibration, air data computers, engine test systems and instrumentation.
