New package offers complete remote drive control
Invertek Drives have announced a complete remote control and PC based drive programming and analysis package for their innovative range of Optidrive AC variable speed drives.
The primary benefit of Optiport is the ability to provide constant visible display of drive parameters and motor running data, together with easy access to drive programming when the drive itself is hidden away behind a panel door.
However, in true Invertek style, Optiport boasts a series of additional benefits.
Foremost amongst these is an integral, programmable digital PID control.
PID is used for applications where feedback control is required, for example, when controlling temperature, pressure, flow rate or speed.
Other added value features include a changeover relay for 'drive healthy' indication and a scaling facility.
The scaling facility allows user-friendly measurements to be displayed instead of motor speed, for example, bottles per hour on a production line.
The Optiport is IP54 rated and can communicate optically with an Optidrive installed within a panel.
This is achieved optically through air or an optic fibre.
Traditional wiring, utilising the onboard RS485 interface, can also be used over long distances.
The Optiport also facilitates full communication between the Optiwand remote control and an Optidrive situated within a panel.
The result is a fully integrated drive control package that is incredibly powerful yet extremely easy to use.
The overriding aim of the Optidrive range, including the Optiwand hand-held, infrared remote control, is to reduce cost of ownership by simplifying installation, programming and commissioning.
Accordingly, the Optidrive range of drives is claimed to be one of the smallest yet most powerful drives in its class and includes a host of user-friendly features for both programming and installation.
Quick touch buttons give direct access to a choice of real-time displays and programming could not be simpler.
A concise standard menu covers all commonly used functions whilst an extended menu can be revealed, if required, to give a wide range of advanced control options.
