Swivel display makes tracers easier to read

An Ideal Industries (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 9, 2006

Circuit tracers for finding breakers and hidden wiring problems in industrial, commercial and residential environments are safe to use on de-energised and energised circuits up to 600V AC/DC.

Ideal Industries has launched versatile, easy-to-use circuit tracers for finding breakers and hidden wiring problems in industrial, commercial and residential environments.

The Suretest circuit tracers are safe to use on de-energised and energised circuits up to 600V AC/DC.

Available in three configurations, each tracer kit contains the same transmitter and test lead kit.

The 61-954 kit includes a receiver with a seven-digit LED screen, while the 61-956 contains a more advanced receiver with Swivel Display, a rotating super-bright OLED display that ensures readings stay upright even if the tracer's receiver is pointing down.

The top of the range 61-958 kit also includes an IC-958 inductive clamp and battery pack for cable tracing in closed circuit applications where the use of wall outlet plug adapters is not appropriate.

The circuit tracers can be used to locate fuses and circuit breakers, pinpoint breaks in wires and shorts to ground and trace wiring concealed behind walls, under floors, in ceilings and underground.

The circuit tracers have a Cat III 1kV safety rating, and four clearly defined modes of sensitivity-based operation (search high, search low, trace and breaker).

They will not affect sensitive electronic equipment or RCDs.

Tony Kumeta, Business Manager at Ideal Industries, said: "We have designed the circuit tracers to be exceptionally easy to use, for example, rather than having a standard series of blinking LED lights, like most competitive models, our display provides a numeric value between 0 and 99 plus a variable pitch/tempo audible indication for quick, simple-to-understand tracing feedback".
