The PhoCheck 5000Ex is designed for a number of applications, including first response to hazardous materials (Hazmat) and chemical weapons The 5000Ex, used with appropriate safety protection can detect nerve, blood, blister and pulmonary agents such as Lewisite, mustard gas, Sarin and VX with an instrument resolution of parts per billion

The early detection of these agents is paramount for first responders to establish the risk involved given a spillage or attack.

The PhoCheck instruments also detect a wide range of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and other toxic gases.

The 5000Ex, at the top of the range, is an intrinsically safe instrument with a detecting level from parts per billion to 10,000ppm (of many gases) making it the only PID on the market with such a range.

Importantly, these instruments are field upgradeable; allowing users to begin with a basic instrument, and then upgrade the PID as needs change.
