Digital pyrometers show their benefits

An Impac Infrared product story

The Infratherm range of digital infra-red pyrometers offer a comprehensive range of features that provide the user with a flexible and cost effective solution to temperature measurement problems.

Infra-red pyrometers have been used for many years in various temperature measurement applications in the metals industry.

The majority of these measurements are made using standard short-wavelength pyrometers, available from a growing number of manufacturers around the world.

But as industry moves forward using new technology, with a need to reduce manufacturing costs and increase the their quality standards, the requirements for temperature measurement are changing and becoming more demanding.

Users of infra-red pyrometers quite correctly expect their temperature measurement capabilities to move forward to satisfy these new demands.

Since the early 1990s Impac has pioneered the use of digital technology in pyrometers, resulting in a state-of-the-art range of instruments to suit the most exacting applications in the metals industry.

The Infratherm range of digital infra-red pyrometers offer a comprehensive range of features that provide the user with a flexible and cost effective solution to temperature measurement problems, including: digital technology, high accuracy, fast response times, wide temperature ranges, digital and analogue outputs, digital communication, small size, rugged construction, and cost effectiveness.

Other features such as through-lens sighting, laser targeting and focusable optics are also available.

Additionally an integral video camera can be included to give the facility to view the target area being measured.

Importantly, this feature can be added without any increase in the size of the pyrometer.

The digital revolution has reached the infra-red pyrometer industry and is advancing rapidly through continued development and the acceptance of the technology by the customer.
