Following the successful launch of the Series 140 pyrometers in 2003, Impac Infrared has released the world's first fully integrated Profibus infra-red pyrometer.

Impac reckons the IS140-PB and IGA 140-PB once again establish it as the world leader in infra-red pyrometry.

With many companies using the Profibus platform for communications in process control systems, the availability of a fully integrated Profibus pyrometer is a distinct advantage to system builders.

Until the launch of the new range by Impac, the only solution has been to use conventional pyrometers with external Profibus convertors.

These solutions have required additional wiring and setup procedures, together with the reliability problems of having several interface units.

The Series 140-PB pyrometers can easily and quickly interfaced with existing Profibus systems using the supplied GSD file.

Project planning can be carried out using any proprietary planning tool software.

The new series encompasses all the features associated with the standard Series 140 pyrometers and with data transfer speeds of up to 12Mbaud they provide the state of the art solution for digital communications.

The Profibus integrated interface will be expanded to cover the full range of the Series 140 pyrometers as customer demand requires.

Future developments of the series will introduce other communications platforms, which will ensure that the product group remains in pole position in the market place.
