Pyrometers promise speedy results

An Impac Infrared product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 29, 2006

Kleiber Pyroskop instruments are ultra-high-speed pyrometers that can measure temperatures at speeds as fast as 10us and with target sizes as small as 0.5mm diameter.

For high speed applications standard infra-red pyrometers may not be fast enough to track the temperature changes.

For these applications Impac has introduced the Kleiber range of pyrometers.

The Kleiber Pyroskop instruments are ultra-high-speed pyrometers that can measure temperatures at speeds as fast as 10us and with target sizes as small as 0.5mm diameter.

The Pyroskop 274 is available with a choice of three spectral ranges.

Target alignment is by means of integral laser targeting light or through lens sighting.

A fibre optic version is also available, the Pyroskop 274-LWL, with similar spectral and temperature ranges.

The fibre and optical head can withstand up to 260C without cooling and are ideal for installations where access is difficult.

A choice of optical heads is available giving spot sizes from 0.5 to 11mm diameter.

The Pyroskop 290 is a special high-speed pyrometer that has a rotating target spot for the easy measurement of moving objects.

The target spot rotates at a speed of 3000rev/min; the described circle is dependant on the optics, which can be focused from 350 to 4000mm.

These pyrometers are ideal for applications where the position of the hot target cannot be determined precisely e.g oscillating wires, heavily scaled billets/slabs etc.

The integrated maximum value storage ensures that the peak temperature of each revolution is captured and supplied to the analogue output.

The Pyroskop is available with a choice of three spectral ranges.

The Kleiber Pyroskop pyrometers represent the cutting edge of technology in high-speed temperature measurement for industrial applications and can measure heating processes that were previously outside the capabilities of infra-red pyrometers.

These instruments can be used for both research and industrial applications and have integral air/water cooling for total protection.
