The Series 4000 RTU from IPC Systems can be used for data logging, control and/or monitoring/alarms.

The Series 4000 RTU from IPC Systems can be used for data logging, control and/or monitoring/alarms In use as a data logger, its 480Kbyte nonvolatile memory can be used to log any of the I/O signals or calculated channels

This can be programmed to upload to a host PC automatically or can be performed manually.

The log file comes in a standard.CSV file that can be quickly and easily analysed using standard packages such as Excel or Access.

Users can log at time increments from hours to milliseconds, and by exception (on an event) or continuously.

An extensive command set is available to enable users to implement complex or simple control strategies very simply and quickly.

Simple digital logic control for switching on and off pumps or more complex analogue temperature control are a couple of examples in which the RTU can be used.

The RTU is well suited to communicating over a modem link.

This can be PSTN (standard land line), GSM or license free radio.

When used in this fashion the RTU can be programmed to monitor any of the I/O or calculated channels.

The RTU can initiate a call to either a host PC or a direct SMS text message to a mobile phone (GSM modem option only).

The versatility of the Series 4000 RTU makes it a viable option for remote and nonremote options alike: it is quite at home doing the job of a chart recorder with a local message display as it is sat in a system at an extremely remote location.

A wide range of signal conditioning and software options is available to suit individual needs.
