Load testing system for diesel locos installed
AG Measurematics has designed, manufactured and installed a load testing system for diesel locomotives at a loco Shed of the Northern Railway in India
The new improved pumps can deliver up to 5bar pressure differential, reducing the time required for each test.
The investment certainly paid off with the company's first visit to a client's site resulting in the detection of a faulty single-section heat exchanger.
Although the heat exchanger used for chilling cream was fitted with over 140 plates, it took less than 180 seconds to show that the plate pack had a problem.
The Independent Integrity Inspection engineer confirmed that two plates were defective by using portable ultrasound equipment.
After the plates were replaced, the heat exchanger was retested using the PCIS method, and the engineer was able to give it the all clear.
