Thermometers speed process measurement
Modline 5 is an all-new family of infra-red thermometers incorporating a wide range of design innovations that greatly simplify process temperature measurement.
Available during the third quarter of 2003, Modline 5 is an all-new family of infra-red thermometers incorporating a wide range of design innovations that greatly simplify process temperature measurement Providing a wide selection of optical resolutions from D/50 to D/300 and covering a focusing range from 102mm to infinity, the Modline 5 infra-red thermometer series extends high-accuracy temperature measurement across a real temperature range from 250 to 3000C

Precisely align temperature sensor with the target
A laser pointing accessory allows users of the Javelin infrared temperature sensor to precisely align the sensor with the centre of the target object with a minimum of effort
Housed in an elegant stainless-steel IP66-rated housing and equipped with high temperature cables and totally sealed connectors, Modline 5 infra-red thermometers have been designed to withstand the harshest industrial environments.
An option for Modline 5 infra-red thermometers is Ircon's patented "dirty window" sensor technology which permanently checks the lens for any dust or debris that could cause a false temperature reading and outputs an alarm signal should the lens needs cleaning.
Modline 5 is focused by rotating the back of the housing and not the lens at the front.
This means the thermometer is free from the possibility of seizing-up in adverse environmental conditions and does not need to be removed from the process for focus adjustments to be made.
Targeting the Modline 5 infra-red thermometer is also straightforward.
Users have a choice of visible through-the-lens sighting or integral laser sighting, which ensures temperature sensor installation times are short.
The operator has easy access to Modline 5 temperature readings, alarms and settings via an integral rear mounted keypad and backlit display.
Alternatively a remote digital indicator unit can be used, connected to the thermometer via its RS485 port, which can also be used to connect with plant wide computer systems.
The thermometer also provides temperature measurements as an analogue output.
The Modline 5 infra-red thermometer will be launched with a complete range of accessories that includes mounting brackets, a water-cooling jacket and an air purge.
