FixtureBuilder is an addon for IronCAD designed to address the needs of the CMM fixture building community, and was developed in collaboration with R and R Sales.
FixtureBuilder is an addon for IronCAD designed to address the needs of the CMM fixture building community, and was developed in collaboration with R and R Sales.
It is a combination of IronCAD's technology leadership in the area of drag and drop assembly design and R and R's industry knowledge and leadership in the area of CMM fixture systems.
FixtureBuilder is a new 3D fixture modelling add-on software product from R and R that is fully integrated with the CAD software from IronCAD.
FixtureBuilder creates Rayco fixture setups for both documenting and offline programming.
To operate the software users simply drag and snap fixture components from the tabbed catalogues onto their specific plates.
IronCAD's SmartSnap Assembly technology automatically aligns the components to the plate while displaying their x and y hole locations for easier positioning.
IronCAD's technology further allows components to intelligently determine correct mating relationships, pairing components only where it makes sense in the context of the design.
The parts to be fixtured can be imported directly into the software using one of a comprehensive set of CAD formats including Iges, Step, Pro/E, Catia, STL and others.
Once the fixture setup is completed FixtureBuilder requires just a single mouse click to create a complete bill of materials list and a comprehensive set of build instructions complete with preview images.
To enable offline programming FixtureBuilder can export the complete setup, including both the part and the fixtures, dramatically reducing the time required to edit the part program.
