IronCAD is to sponsor the Velocity Performance Group, the first ever European two-car funny car race team.

IronCAD is to sponsor the Velocity Performance Group (VPG), the first ever European two-car funny car race team, a direct result of the merger between Leanders Bros Racing and Lundqvist Motorsports in 2004.

The combined race team will be based out of Alfta, Sweden and compete across Europe and in the Middle East.

For the third straight year IronCAD is proud to be the major sponsor and the design system of choice for Leanders Bros team and looks forward to working with the rest of the VPG family in the 2005 season, which runs from May to September 2005.

Since 2000 Leander Bros racing has been a top competitor in the European Drag Racing Championship circuit.

In 2003 it smashed the European record in their class with an amazing time of 5.666s to cover the quarter mile track.

For the 2005 season it will use a 526 BAE Hemi engine to power its Top Methanol Funny Car and expect to once again make a major impact on the racing circuit this year.

The team's next race meeting is scheduled for 27th to 30th May at the Santa Pod Circuit in England.

"Following some technical difficulties experienced early in the 2004 season, the Leanders Bros team went on to win most of the remaining events in the series and finished 2nd overall in the 2004 FIA series title race", states Ulf Leanders, driver/owner of Leanders Bros Racing.

"This year, the Velocity Performance Group team will be campaigning two Top Methanol Funny Cars and one Junior Dragster, becoming the first top end team to run multiple cars in the European FIA championship".

"It is hoped that the running of two identical cars will provide better quality data enabling more predictable car setups and improved performance".

"With a number of new IronCAD designed technological developments for this season, we feel confident of running a faster and more reliable car this season".

Shaun Murphy VP of Sales and Marketing at IronCAD states: "IronCAD is thrilled to be associated with VPG for the 2005 racing season".

"Being involved with a race team dedicated to being the fastest in their respective field motivates the whole IronCAD team to create the fastest and most productive design software to help them achieve that goal".

"Being able to quickly flesh out a new 3D concept design within the context of the existing race car assembly without being concerned about design intent is what separates IronCAD from the rest, and the main reason why VPG chose IronCAD as their preferred design solution".
