Malaysia's largest motorcycle manufacturer standardises on CAD software due to its ease of use created by positioning tool and dynamic feedback technology.

Motosikal Dan Enjin Nasional (Modenas), Malaysia's largest motorcycle manufacturer, has standardised its design group on Ironcad due to its ease of use which is created by such technologies as the Tri-Ball positioning tool and Smart Snap dynamic feedback technology Also, recent additions to Ironcad, such as the ability to read and write Catia v5 files and advanced surface and 3D curve creation tools, were factors in the decision making

The Modenas installation is an expansion of its initial purchase of Ironcad in 2000.

This expansion, which integrated Ironcad's network licence manager software, ensures that all the designers will have access to Ironcad for their design needs.

"We have always appreciated the fast and easy design methodologies available in Ironcad," said Ku Anuar Ku Ismail, Modenas Production Engineer.

"It was only natural that we expand this tools presence at Modenas so more engineers could use Ironcad's abilities".

"The addition of Ironcad's surfacing tools as well as the Catia compatibility made it the clear choice to expand our design capabilities".

Steve McGuinness, Ironcad's Director of International Sales, said: "With Ironcad fully implemented, Modenas can expect to see a huge increase in productivity now and long into the future".

Modenas will be serviced and trained by Ironcad's Malaysia reseller, Intelifix Engineering.
