IronCAD's Top Methanol Funny Car has won first place at the FIA European Championship.

On 10th September 2006, IronCAD's Top Methanol Funny Car, piloted by Ulf Leanders of Leanders Brothers Racing, won first place at the FIA European Championship This is Leanders' first championship title

Previous years placed the Leanders team in Europe's top three.

Designed with IronCAD, Leanders uses the 3D modelling software to custom-build parts for his dragster.

Funny Car racing is a heavily regulated sport and teams must follow a tight set of rules when designing their vehicles.

With IronCAD, Leanders Brothers Racing can create parts that can handle the rigors of drag racing while still conforming to regulatory guidelines.

These parts yield better performance than store-bought models and allow Leanders Brothers to contend with their professional racing counterparts.

"Sometimes the best way to maximise performance is to make something new", says Leanders.

"Anything that's custom built will always perform better because you have specific conditions to work with".

"IronCAD gives our small team that strength".

"IronCAD is how a small team like ours can bring home a championship", he continued.

At the 2006 finals, Ulf Leanders defeated Arvid Grandodem of Norway in round one.

Leanders ran 5.836s at 240mph.

Then, fellow Swedes Ulf Leanders and Leif Andrandeasson faced off in round two.

Leanders beat Andrandeasson - taking the win and the championship.
