Low-profile connectors link small servos
Connectors provide maximum power in a minimum size package featuring 50% less weight than conventional circular connectors.
A new addition to the standard range of Cm3 connectors has recently been launched by ITT Cannon Designed for small servomotors in applications such as industrial motion control, robotics, factory automation and material handling, new low profile Cm3 2x power connectors use one standard power connector to feed the motor (three power contacts plus one ground contact) plus an additional power connector (featuring four power contacts) for the two-way brake and two-way thermal sensor

Connectors take fibre optics to harsh environments
ITT Industries, Cannon is announcing a new line of harsh environment connectors for its innovative PHD multi-channel optical interconnects system.
Two further signal connectors (two times six contacts) are used for the encoder or resolver.
The new design enables ITT Cannon to offer a wider range of options to its customers as standard Cm3 connectors featuring one power connector and two signal contacts don't have enough power for brake and thermal sensor power ratings.
Designed as a replacement for two circular connectors, new Cm3 2x power connectors provide maximum power in a minimum size package featuring 50% less weight than conventional circular connectors.
The devices can be installed simply and at low cost thanks to simple harnessing and easy contact assembly without tool.
Benefiting from only one housing for the two power and two signal connectors, Cm3 2x power connectors benefit from a maximum current of 10A at 80C and a maximum voltage of 630V AC for the power connectors with a maximum wire section of 1.0mm2.
The signal connectors feature a maximum current of 3A at 80C and a maximum voltage of 48V AC.
Cm3 2x power connectors benefit from crimp contacts, excellent vibration resistance and are completely shielded and sealed, including two sealed entries for power and signal cables.
Further technical details of the components include a contact resistance of less than 10mohm, an insulation resistance of more than 5000Mohm, an operating temperature range of -40 to +125C and an IP rating of IP65 or IP67. Request a free brochure from ITT Interconnect Solutions ...
