TurboCAD Professional Version 11 achieves innovative levels of power and performance with a new and improved set of design tools.

The newest version of IMSI's flagship product, TurboCAD Professional, Version 11, is now available to purchase.

The new version achieves innovative levels of power and performance with a new and improved set of design tools that includes ACIS 14 solid modelling engine, D-Cubed's constraint engine, region extrude, gradient fills, transparency, LightWorks 7.4 photorealistic rendering engine from LightWork Design, and much more, giving users faster, more powerful design capabilities.

These new and improved features all add up to make TurboCAD today's most powerful CAD value.

"TurboCAD Professional Version 11 combines the industry's best tools with an incredible pricing structure - a combination that is long overdue in the CAD industry", said Bob Mayer, EVP of Precision Design, IMSI.

"We have continued to build on the success of TurboCAD Version 10 where we started including high-end professional-level design tools at a value price".

"Version 11 is taking that successful strategy further by adding the latest DWG support and the latest modelling, rendering and design technologies and still keeping the price under $1000", added Mayer.

"We are very pleased with the growth of our TurboCAD line, in the first two quarters of this fiscal year sales are up over 60%".

"TurboCAD v11 continues the tradition of being a feature/price leader and with the over two dozen new and improved features, we expect to be able to continue to grow our market share by following the strategy of adding the best mechanical and AEC design tools to our TurboCAD products", said Mayer.

TurboCAD Professional version 11 adapts to the user's method of 2D and 3D design, allowing them access to its design tools in all drawing modes - no more switching back and forth.

With self-healing import of SAT and IGES files, the ability to create threaded bodies, NURBS to deform models in a more intuitive, predictable manner, seamless interoperability with improved STEP and IGES filters and AutoCAD 2005 DXF and DWG compatibility, TurboCAD Professional satisfies mechanical and engineering goals.

"We're proud that IMSI chose Spatial's ACIS modeller as their engine for TurboCAD Professional v11", said Keith Mountain, President and COO of Spatial.

"Having ACIS inside will serve TurboCAD customers well".

"It's fast, robust, tolerant, and as the most popular modeller in use, provides a high level of interoperability as well".

"We applaud IMSI's efforts to bring a quality product to a wider audience and hope to support them through future versions of TurboCAD", added Mountain.

TurboCAD Professional Version 11 features LightWorks 7.4 rendering engine with high dynamic range imaging (HDRI) support.

The valuable application lets users match lighting with real-world backgrounds, allowing users to create computer-designed images with photorealistic precision.

Its dynamic range lets users compensate for extreme contrasts of lightness and darkness that are more like the human eye so that designs can be revealed with maximum realism and clarity.

And with the QuickTime VR viewer users can quickly walk around their 3D models, making visualisation even simpler.

Users can take presentations to another level with TurboCAD Pro's new brush style editor.

New bitmap fills let you users a photo or other graphic element inside their designs and new gradient fills allow them to fade from light to dark along radial, linear, diamond or custom paths from one part of the drawing to another.

The addition of the colour transparency tool allows users to screen back the colour or an object in the foreground to display or emphasise hidden details in the background.

TurboCAD Professional 11 is fluent in 28 of the most popular industry standard file formats including AutoCAD 2005 DWG/DXF, Microstation DGN, DesignCAD DCD, 3DS, IGES, STEP and STL.

Users also have the option to publish their designs to HTML, JPG, and MTX.

This powerful program also includes a complete software development kit and a new Visual Basic macro recorder.

With over two million copies sold, TurboCAD software is used by those who need unmatched performance and ease of use in a desktop CAD application.

TurboCAD's comprehensive 2D power is seamlessly integrated with advanced 3D modelling in a familiar Windows environment.

Advanced tools specific to mechanical and architectural projects complement TurboCAD's superior general design tools, and its photorealistic rendering engine produces fast, professional results.

TurboCAD Professional version 11 is available directly from IMSI and selected retail outlets.

TurboCAD Professional version 11 retails for US $895 or, as a competitive upgrade, for US $349.95.
