Optically-coupled isolator uses lower current
UK opto-electronic component specialist Isocom Components announces a low-current, high gain, optically-coupled isolator based on the industry standard 4N32 photo Darlington type
The MOC3080 series triacs are mounted in a standard six pin dual-in-time package and are UL approval recognised, File No.E91231 The series is designed for use with a power triac in applications such as the interface of logic systems to 240VAC powered equipment.
This can include industrial controllers, motor control, consumer appliances, printers, CRTs, solenoids, and solid state relays.
A Feature of these triac drivers, apart from the high 800V blocking voltage, is high isolation voltage being 5.3kV RMS and 7.5kV peak.
Total power dissipation is 250 mW, while the operating temperature ranges from - 40 to +100 degC.
The input diode has a forward current rating of 50mA, a reverse voltage of 6V and a power dissipation of 120mW For the output photo triac, the forward current ratings are 100mA RMS and 1.2A peak, while the power dissipation is 150mW.
The series can be obtained with 10mm lead spacing or formed for SMD mounting as well as the standard DIP leadframe.
All electrical parameters are 100% tested and custom electrical selections are available.
