Metaldyne Corp has selected DEXcenter from ITI TranscenData to integrate file transfers and translations throughout the engineering supply chain.

DEXcenter is a secure web-based solution that automates, centralises, and manages the exchange of engineering product data files throughout the supply chain, regardless of that data's type, source, or destination.

Metaldyne will employ DEXcenter to translate and transfer a variety of CAD model file types (including I-Deas, Pro/Engineer, Unigraphics, and Catia between departments, customers, and suppliers.

"The ability to quickly and reliably share files with our other facilities, suppliers and customers is critical to our business", said Metaldyne's Joe Kennedy, Manager, Knowledge Systems.

"We explored a variety of options and found DEXcenter to be the best overall solution for the myriad of file types encountered in the global engineering environment".

"Metaldyne is an example of how organisations are raising the value of their product data by making its reuse more effective among the engineering supply chain", explained Don Hemmelgarn, President of ITI TranscenData.

"DEXcenter allows Metaldyne to focus time and resources on their core business objectives instead of reworking and transferring CAD files.

We are very pleased to have been entrusted as Metaldyne's supply chain integration solution provider".
