New from ITI TranscenData is Cadiq Version 4.0, incorporating Cadiq Compare - a new application module for CAD model comparison.

Cadiq Compare supports the major CAD applications.

The software validates the before/after effects on CAD model quality and geometry shape changes introduced as the model goes through such processes as: data translation, CAD system release upgrades, new CAD model versions or revisions, and other product development procedures.

For example, an early adopter of Cadiq Compare plans to use the software to ensure that all translated parts are accurate to within 0.01mm of the original CAD part.

The Cadiq Compare module will be generally available in June 2003.

ITI TranscenData is today working with leading manufacturing organisations to ensure that the new application module can support complex production usage scenarios.

Cadiq Compare will allow users to compare the shape of two models and identify: unacceptable shape changes introduced by translation; unacceptable shape changes introduced while upgrading to a new CAD system release; and shape (feature geometry) changes between model versions/revisions.

Users can compare the quality of two models and identify: quality defects introduced/removed during translation; quality defects introduced during release upgrades; and quality defects significant for a specific downstream process.

The new software also allows users to: qualify a model for downstream use (custom configuration); create a custom diagnostic configuration by comparing quality models; identify defects that cause translation to fail; identify defects that cause significant analysis or tooling rework; and validate that a model satisfies specific customer quality requirements.
