CAEview is a new engineering visualisation and publishing package that can be used to publish interactive displays of finite-element models from Ansys and UGS Master FEM files.

CAEview is a new engineering visualisation and publishing package from ITI that can be used to publish interactive displays of finite-element models from Ansys and UGS Master FEM files.

Analysis results may be viewed in any Java-supporting web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, and others, without the need for any specially installed software.

CAEview displays can be used in secure web-based global collaboration systems to facilitate sharing of results between geographically distributed product development groups, or between manufacturers and suppliers.

CAEview is fully compatible with ITI ProjectView web-based collaboration and engineering data management system.

Displays may be bundled into a single file, and sent by e-mail, or incorporated into Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

CAEview makes use of a script-based interoperability engine allowing convenient updates and customisations.

In addition to support for Ansys and UGS Master FEM, partial support is provided for models from Nastran bulk data, Abaqus binary result files and Technalysis Passage flow dynamics results, with more capability to be added.

Additionally, CAEview displays geometry from stereolithography (STL) files.

Scripts can be added to support proprietary in-house analysis file formats, and the publisher can be invoked from a web server to allow for a fully automated web-based analysis system.

Jim Sherlock, ITI Vice President and General Manager, Concurrent Product Manufacturing Process Development business comments: "ITI has used CAEview for several years now to publish web displays of mode shapes, test data and time history results for our engineering consulting projects".

"We are pleased to make it available to customers who have CAE data from Ansys or UGS Master FEM".
