Bedfont Scientific of Rochester is celebrating its success at the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) awards where it was named New Exporter of the Year for Kent.
Bedfont Scientific of Rochester is celebrating its success at the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) awards where it was named New Exporter of the Year for Kent.
The firm specialises in the manufacture of exhaled breath and gas monitoring instruments, including a Smokerlyser System that has been developed for personal use by smokers trying to kick the habit and measures levels of carbon monoxide (CO) in the lungs on a day by day basis.
Phil Bromley, Technical Manager of Bedfont Scientific, accepted the award from Danny Lopez, Director of Marketing at UKTI, and Richard West, formerly of McLaren and Williams Formula 1 teams, at the UKTI International Awards dinner at Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands on Thursday 22nd March.
Speaking after receiving the awards Phil Bromley said: "We are delighted that our efforts have been rewarded".
"This shows what can be achieved by hard work, innovative products, and a willingness to make good use of the support available from UKTI".
"And it demonstrates that technology-based firms in Kent can take on the World".
Danny Lopez said: "Bedfont Scientific deserve our praise".
"It has shown that although moving into new overseas market can seem a daunting step, the rewards can be significant".
"Indeed for many technology-based firms it is essential to their success".
These awards were the culmination of a series of events that took place across the South East in March as part of UKTI's International Month.
These events included seminars and exhibitions and were specifically tailored to help businesses new to exporting.
