Paul Ingham is ITS' first apprentice to complete an NVQ Level 3, an HNC in instrumentation and control and to receive a Modern Apprenticeship Certificate.
Paul Ingham, now a Systems Engineer at Industrial Technology Systems (ITS) of Middlesbrough is ITS' first apprentice to complete an NVQ Level 3, an HNC in instrumentation and control and to receive a Modern Apprenticeship Certificate.
Ingham started his Modern Apprenticeship in September 1998.
He attended Cleveland Training Centre for his first year and successfully completed NVQ Level 2 and Key Skills Level 2.
In 1999 Ingham joined ITS for a period of three years to gain the practical experience required to complete his NVQ Level 3.
As an apprentice Ingham's responsibilities included the design, assembly, wiring, and testing of control panels, producing various types of documentation, carrying out PLC coding, Scada and simulation integration, as well as hardware and software installation, commissioning and testing.
Ingham's satisfaction in the courses and his time at ITS is supported through the following statement: "I have really enjoyed all aspects of the course.
It's been great gaining both a practical and a theory-based understanding.
The support provided by ITS throughout the three years has been excellent".
ITS' commitment is supported by NVQ assessor, Alan Small, Project Manager at ITS, "Since 1998 we have recruited another two apprentices and are very happy with the contribution that they have made to our business.
We are all very proud of Paul's performance and success.
He has set and achieved high standards in all aspects of his work and is a fine example for our other apprentices to follow.".
