Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 24, 2006

Industrial Technology Systems and Cognex are running a series of free machine vision seminars at the PPMA Show.

Industrial Technology Systems (ITS) and Cognex are running a series of free "Make It Right" machine vision seminars at the PPMA Show, NEC, Birmingham on 27th and 28th September 2006.

The seminars are a quick and informal way to learn about machine vision and the benefits that the technology can deliver, including: reductions in costs through the elimination of manual inspection; zero defects; reductions in scrap and rework; accurate traceability; and improvements in productivity.

Using a number of sample applications, the seminars will demonstrate how vision technology can be used at multiple points in a production process to perform the following tasks: barcode reading for traceability; inspection for defects; accurate measurement of parts; inspection of text, codes and patterns; counting of products; orientation of products for robot picking; presence/absence of items; and colour monitoring and sorting.

The 45 minute seminars will also include software demonstrations and advice on lighting and integration.

Light refreshments will also be provided.
