Company makes emissions testing acquisition

The acquisition of Carnot complements Intertek's existing expert analytical automotive research services.

Intertek has acquired Carnot Emission Services (Carnot), in Kelly, San Antonio, Texas USA.

Intertek provides outsourcing, testing, inspection, certification and related services while is an emissions testing organisation.

The business provides engine dynamometer-based transient and steady state emissions certification, audit and compliance testing services.

Carnot serves the nonroad engine industry that includes small off-road engine (SORE), large spark-ignited (LSI) engine, marine, recreational vehicle, agricultural and other off-highway engine applications.

Carnot complements Intertek's existing expert analytical automotive research services and augments Intertek's ability to supply value-added emissions testing and research services.

Steven Griffin, President and CEO of Carnot Emission Services and the entire management, technical, operational and administrative teams will continue to run the business, integrated into the Intertek global laboratory network.

Carnot Emissions Services reports directly into the Intertek Automotive Research operation.
