The acquisition of PTLI enhances Intertek's polymer and plastic testing capabilities in North America and complements existing polymer and plastic testing laboratories.
Intertek's Oil, Chemical and Agri group has acquired Plastics Technology Laboratories (PTLI).
PTLI specialises in polymer testing, providing services to major producers and end users of plastics, elastomers, composites, packaging and films in the aerospace, automotive and medical devices.
It possesses expertise in mechanical, physical testing, thermal, rheological, flammability, analytical, weathering and electrical material evaluations for plastics, elastomers, composites, packaging and films.
The acquisition of PTLI enhances Intertek's polymer and plastic testing capabilities in North America and complements existing polymer and plastic testing laboratories in the global Intertek laboratory network.
Executive Vice President Mark Loughead, said, "The acquisition of PTLI enables Intertek to offer expanded and complementary services to our US customers and also internationally".
"PTLI's customers will also benefit from Intertek's diverse offerings and technical capabilities in addition to PTLI's core capabilities".
