Version 8.0 of the Wonderware ActiveFactory suite of analysis clients gives managers, engineers and operators easy access to plant information in Wonderware's IndustrialSQL Server historian.

Wonderware has introduced version 8.0 of its ActiveFactory suite of analysis clients, which gives managers, engineers and operators easy access to plant information in Wonderware's IndustrialSQL Server historian.

ActiveFactory software is an integral part of Wonderware's "visualise, analyse, optimise" strategy, which offers customers industrial intelligence.

It is designed to assist users to visualise improvements in operational effectiveness and efficiency, analyse the best means to achieve their objectives and optimise existing investments in software and equipment.

ActiveFactory clients combine process analysis, predefined trend charts and reporting into a single, integrated package so that plant engineers can more easily troubleshoot operations based on detailed, accurate information.

The ActiveFactory software adds support for geographically dispersed clients and controlled corrections to historical data.

In addition, the ActiveFactory software's advanced features can be hidden, giving users targeted access to desired information.

The new ActiveFactory reporting website makes it easier to cost-effectively deliver valuable information to large audiences.

The reporting Web site operates in either a stand-alone website mode or as an integral part of Wonderware's SuiteVoyager industrial web portal.

"The response to the reporting website has been tremendous", said ActiveFactory Product Manager Elliott Middleton.

"Customers are excited about broadening access to process history without having to invest in costly web development".

The reporting tools extend Microsoft's Excel and Word productivity tools to simplify access to industrial information.

"Rather than making users learn a proprietary way to create reports, we enable them to use the software they already know.

We simply extend the software, making it easier for users to access both historical and live data from Wonderware's IndustrialSQL Server historian".

The ActiveFactory 8.0 product also supports Invensys' new ArchestrA technology platform, a comprehensive plant automation and information architecture designed from the outset to extend the life of legacy systems.

By leveraging the latest software technologies, the ArchestrA architecture enables every system in a plant to work in concert.

"With more than 75,000 copies sold, ActiveFactory software is helping numerous companies make significant improvements in their operations", Middleton said.

ActiveFactory 8.0 is now shipping and is available through Wonderware distributors worldwide.
