Wonderware has released several new and enhanced data access servers (DAServers) supporting Siemens and Rockwell.

DAServers are Wonderware's next-generation I/O servers built on ArchestrA technology and offer enhanced communication diagnostics and performance.

Each DAServer is designed to provide connectivity between client applications based on Wonderware's SuiteLink, OPC and DDE protocols running on Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP operating systems and data devices supported by the specific protocol being translated.

Wonderware's DAServers also come with a new user interface called the DAServer Manager, which is installed as a Microsoft Management Console snap-in, as well as an ArchestrA System Management Console plug-in that supports Wonderware's IndustrialSQL Server historian and the Industrial Application Server.

Its end-user benefits include simple remote server activation, configuration and operation, and extensive protocol diagnostic troubleshooting.

Several standard features are available with each DAServer, including: compliance with OPC version 2.05; stand-alone operation mode; support for hot configuration, device additions and device- and server-specific parameter modifications; and non-English installations for supported Microsoft operating systems, including German, Japanese, French and Chinese The newest DAServer products include the Siemens Simatic Net S7 data access server and Allen-Bradley Data Highway Plus data access server.

The Simatic Net S7 DAServer features include: connectivity to S7 PLCs via Simatic Net; and support for Siemens (CP5411, CP5511, CP5412-A2, CP5613, CP1413, CP1411, CP1511) interface cards and standard commercial TCP/IP network interface cards.

The Allen-Bradley DHPLUS DAServer features include: connectivity over Data Highway Plus, Data Highway, DH485 protocols to PLC 5 and SLC-500 PLCs; and support for AB (1784 PKT, 1784 PKT D) and SST (5136SD, 5136 SD PCI) interface cards.

A wide range of DAServers are available that support connectivity to a wide variety of protocols and products.

The current offering of DAServers also includes support for Allen-Bradley CIP protocol for ControlLogix and Allen-Bradley TCP protocol.

Many new DAServers are in development and will be introduced over the next year.

DAServers can operate with many current FactorySuite 2000 client components, as well as with FactorySuite A2 product offerings when used in conjunction with their associated device integration objects.

Invensys' new ArchestrA technology platform enables customers to extend and improve the value of their automation, information and human assets by unifying multiple vendor offerings and systems.

Current and emerging systems can be linked in an orchestrated plant-level application model, maximising total return on investments.

Subscribers to Wonderware's comprehensive support service can access this product now on the Wonderware support website.

The newly introduced DAServers will be included in the next remastering of the I/O servers with the device integration products CD-ROM currently scheduled for release this summer as part of comprehensive support CY2003.
