Jabsco's Hy-Line and Ultima series of hygienic rotary lobe pumps are now independently tested and certified to the European Hygienic Equipment Design Group (EHEDG) protocol.

Jabsco is delighted to announce that its Hy-Line and Ultima series of hygienic rotary lobe pumps are now independently tested and certified to the European Hygienic Equipment Design Group (EHEDG) clean in place (CIP) protocol The Hy-Line and Ultima follow Jabsco's highly successful 55 Series rotary lobe pumps in achieving this distinction

The tests, carried out at the Camden and Chorleywood Food Research Association (CCFRA), compare the cleanliness of the pump to the cleanliness of a straight piece of reference pipe connected to the pump and subjected to the same test procedure.

This evaluates the residual bacteria count in the pump and pipe after both have been soiled under pressure with a soured milk solution containing spores of a bacterium strain followed by a light clean in place procedure.

Ultima offers industry-leading standards of hygiene and drainability.

With its proven CIP capabilities supported by high levels of sterilise-in-place (SIP) and bacteria containment, Ultima fully meets the expectations of pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Hy-Line shares many of the features of Ultima but is targeted at the super-hygienic expectations of the food processing industries.

Hy-line and Ultima's hygienic standards have been achieved without any compromise on ease of maintenance.

Interchangeable seals allow a wide variety of products to be pumped and with selected seals the pumps can dry-run.

All primary shaft seals are fully front-loading but the rotor case can still be readily removed for quick inspection and service of secondary seals; there is no need to drain lubricating oil or dismantle the gearbox.

Jabsco lobe pumps will handle liquid viscosities up to 3,000,000 cP, generate pressures up to 20 bar and handle delicate shear-sensitive and soft-particle-laden fluids with minimal damage.
