Flojet Acquisition Boosts Pump Range
A wider range of industrial diaphragm pumps is now on offer following the acquisition of Flojet Corp by ITT Industries.
The Sensor VSD diaphragm pump provides pulse-free, constant-pressure operation from any supply voltage between 10 and 29V DC and employs a constant-pressure microprocessor controller (patent pending) to match pump output to system demand.
This automatically compensates for changes in demand such as differing sizes of spray nozzles, changes in fluid characteristics, system and filter blockages or the operation of downstream valves.
Performance from zero to maximum flow is electronically regulated to ensure smooth, constant-pressure operation with no unwanted cycling or hunting as can be experienced with conventional pressure-switch controls.
When the pump outlet is open the motor runs at maximum speed, but when the outlet is restricted the motor slows, maintaining a steady system pressure with the added benefits of reduced noise, current draw and component stress.
Should the outlet be completely shut off the pump will stop, and automatically restart smoothly on demand, the 'soft-start' feature minimising splashing and splutter.
Flojet Sensor VSD delivers up to 16.3 litre/min.
Constant-pressure control is available at 1.7 or 2.1bar with self-priming lift up to 3m.
Based on the widely used Flojet Quad four-chamber diaphragm pump, Sensor VSD is designed to be used in mobile and portable equipment, dust suppression systems and cleaning machines and anywhere a low-voltage DC supply is available.
Inbuilt thermal overload, overcurrent and reverse-polarity protection are included.
