The CV-M8CL is a 2Mpixel Bayer CFA colour camera from JAI Pulnix that has 1600 x 1200 resolution.

Measuring 40 x 50 x 120mm, the camera is based on a progressive scan 1in-format Bayer CFA CCD sensor (KAI-2001CM) with 7.4um square pixels.

The CV-M8CL offers 30 frames per second at full resolution with dual-tap output or 17 frames per second at full resolution over single-tap output.

Other CV-M8CL specifications include: CameraLink interface, RS232C for configuring the camera, PIV mode and a C-mount.

The camera is designed for such applications as industrial inspection and intelligent traffic systems.

The CV-M8CL includes: auto iris lens video output, knee and gamma response curves, reset continuous trigger mode, analogue monitor output (reduced resolution), and five-image burst trigger mode.

The burst trigger allows the capture of a sequence of five images at different shutter speed settings.

In situations in which the lighting conditions are uncertain, such as in an outdoor environment, burst trigger allows a range of exposures to be captured simultaneously.

That allows the most suitable exposure to be selected later for further processing.

Knee and gamma functions allow image capture in contrast-rich scenes without rendering dark parts unrecognisable or bright parts bloomed.
